PBK – Shadows of Prophecy/In His Throes

Not a compilation, but a work divided into two suites. The first half is the sound of stuttering inputs and machines struggling to get going. Noisy tones rise and fall and occasionally reach a powerful climax. The second half is calmer, but has an organic sense of darkness to it and a feeling of general unease. It’s more in the vein of PBK’s “noiseambient” works but a tad harsher than some of those. A very nice album overall, but would probably suit fans of experimental electroacoustic music more than someone looking for accessible soundscapes.

This album is out of print, but you may be able to find a copy through Discogs.
