Submission Policy

AUGUST 2017 UPDATE:

Due to a backlog of promos I’m not accepting further material for review. If you would still like to submit material for review, please check this page next month for an update.

Before asking to send anything, please keep in mind that I will only post about or review ambient and ambient-leaning releases. A good rule of thumb is, if your music has lyrics and vocals, it is probably not appropriate for this blog.

Only physical releases available for sale to the general public will be accepted and reviewed. The only exception to this would be if I have previously purchased music from your project/band/label. In those cases I may be willing to review a lossless digital release.

Under no circumstances will streaming music (e.g. Soundcloud, Spotify, etc.), lossy digital downloads (e.g. mp3, aac, etc.), or demos not for sale to the general public be accepted for review. Likewise, if you are a new artist with no physical releases and you’re looking for feedback, I recommend you seek out a musicians’ forum. People there will be far more equipped to provide you with relevant technical and artistic feedback than I would be.

All submissions will be reviewed on my own terms. I love music, but it’s a hobby for me, not a job. I can’t guarantee that I will like your submission, nor can I guarantee that your submission will be reviewed immediately, or if it will be reviewed at all. I also can’t return promo copies of albums that are sent to me. Finally, in an effort to keep things positive here, if I simply don’t like your submission I may elect not to review it.
